The Christmas Market began in 2005. It has over trebled in size and has established itself as an annual event. It takes place on the second Tuesday of the month of December.

A small group of volunteers from Auckley formed a committee and called the group Auckley All 4 All. Our purpose was to raise funds for a local community project and support other local community groups. One of the first events in December 2005 to be organised, was a Christmas Market. The market was so successful even with just 20 stalls back then, but with so much positive feedback from traders and visitors, it was decided by the committee to make it an annual event. Each year the market gets bigger and better in 2010 there were over 70 stallholders, many traders return year after year and we thank these traders for their continued support. In fact the majority of traders book their stalls for the following year to avoid disappointment.   Traders and visitors come from Lancashire, Nottinghamshire, West & North Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.  The Christmas Market is a great start to the festive season.

The Market comprises of over 70 stalls with a wide variety of quality goods on sale including, fresh meats and poultry, organic produce, gifts, decorations, personalised beer bottles and tasters, handcrafted cards, branded perfumes, jewellery, handbags, ladies fashions, Christmas wreathes and plants, pet accessories and much, much more! You will be spoilt for choice for what’s on offer!

The Christmas Market is near to Doncaster's Robin Hood Airport in the small village of Auckley, near Doncaster, on part of the B1396.

Auckley All 4 All rely on help on the day from local volunteers who start as early as 7.30am  to help erect the stalls and then to come back out into the cold temperatures of the night to dismantle the stalls, without the help of these volunteers it would be impossible for the market to go ahead.  We also have help from Doncaster Tourist Business Development and Visitor Economy who help us to promote the event, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council Neighbourhood Managers and their teams for their continued support and the local police.

CHRISTMAS MARKET PARKING

For anyone wishing to park there is street parking, please do not block anyone’s driveway. Please do not use the local public house as this is for pub customers only.

Advice

1. Please be careful when crossing local roads they can be very busy during market times.
2. Dressed for the occasion with warm clothes as the temperature drops in the evening.
3. Find out what’s on and where in Doncaster – Telephone 01302 734309 the Tourist Information Centre or call in. It’s the Blue Building on High Street Doncaster (near the Danum Hotel) The staff will be happy to tell you what else is on in Doncaster and the surrounding areas.
4. Drink plenty of hot drinks to keep warm – get a true taste of Christmas with a cup of mulled wine,
5. Food - enjoy fish and chips from Auckley Friery.
6. Separated from friends or family? We suggest meeting at the large Christmas tree on the green. In the event of lost children or lost property please contact a nominated steward or police officer .
